  • MLM Customer Service: Efficient Work Stations

Properly designed workstations for customer service personnel serving in MLM, network marketing and party plan customer service teams provide these advantages:
    • Increased worker efficiency
    • Greater privacy and fewer distractions
    • Better work control
    • Easier training
    • Possibly, reduced equipment needs.
Worktables without drawers are best for customer service. Tables are less expensive than desks and the lack of drawers prevents work from being mislaid or hidden. Hooks can be installed under the worktable to hold pocketbooks and the increased legroom saves many a pair of hose.

Correspondence team arrangements can vary with the number of members and the equipment required. The exhibits in the next page show possible layouts for three, four and six person teams. The typical telephone work cubicle has sound-absorbent walls upon which instructions, company announcements, etc., can be placed. The separating partitions can be various heights, though the ServiceQuest® team prefers an open work environment; thus, eye-level is recommended, where sound is contained, but co-workers are easily accessible to each other. Note how the configurations allow for key interaction for support, training, and teamwork.

Neatness is a key to efficiency. Hence, workstations should exhibit the proverbial "a place for everything and everything in its place," including storage arrangements for work in process, response forms and research tools.

The right configuration will make a world of difference as your team deals with the exciting challenges of serving MLM field leaders and Party Plan consultants. When working with MLM software, learning curves are shortened because the customer service reps have fast access to each other. When dealing with complex MLM legal issues, Party Plan compensation and hostess rewards programs, customer service and distributor service challenges, the right work space configuration will promote learning and increase morale, ultimately reflecting on your commitment to exceptional service.

    Lineal Work Station

Worktable layout suitable for either 3 or 6 person teams. Layout is also practical for order entry work-stations, although the worktop for order entry need not be as spacious as that of customer service.

    Open Office Plan Work Station

Correspondence team work station for "garden-type" office layouts. It is practical with shared computer terminals or with a separate terminal for each employee.
